See What I See: Walk By Faith, Not By Sight

walk by faith not by sight

FOR WE WALK BY FAITH, NOT BY SIGHT

I don’t care what anybody says, I hear “walk by faith, not by sight” and I think it’s the hardest thing to do in life. It’s terrifying, nerve racking, and almost never easy. It’s filled to the brim with self doubt.

“Really God?! Are you sure you have the right person?! There are plenty other people that would be a better fit… smarter, more impactful, more qualified, more… everything!”

Have you ever had this conversation when inspiration strikes? I’ve got my hand raised for sure. I actually have been having this conversation with God on a regular basis my entire life.

In the moment I’ve under-qualified myself, feeling the weight of the world, comparing myself to others, trying to pass the idea off and ignore God’s calling. But I tell ya what, the Dude is persistent! And yes, I just called God dude.

I’ve spent too much time trusting what my eyes see. I look in the mirror and see who I am.

I begin doubting myself and His plan because I can’t conceptualize the gap between who I am, where I am, and what I feel He is calling me to do. And there I am again, asking God if He’s got it right.

HOW TO WALK BY FAITH, NOT BY SIGHT

Our God-sized dream, the inspiration, where He is pulling us—It doesn’t make sense until it makes sense. Where we are and where He wants us to go usually means walking through uncomfortable situations. To be able to do that we have to change the way we see ourselves.

Instead God wants us to see ourselves as He sees us. He doesn’t want us to look into the mirror and see who we are. He wants us to look in the mirror and see who we can become. God wants us to see what He sees.

LEARNING TO WALK BY FAITH, NOT BY SIGHT

We get pulled into discomfort to ultimately grow into our potential. To leave a comfortable position or season in life and daringly walk down a path you know will challenge you. But what challenges you for the better, changes you for the better. And what changes you for the better usually has God smack dab in the middle of it.

God is redirecting our sight, fixing our focus. He’s urging us to no longer focus on who we currently are, but gaze into the future with faithful eyes looking at who He has created us to be.

He’s constantly feeding us inspiration to do more than we think we could ever be capable of. Yes, your dream is a big, your anxiety is big, but God is bigger! He’s given us purpose and filled us with potential.

Feel His faithfulness guiding you, walking you towards your potential… Your God given potential.
